VILLUPURAM: In a suspected exam-related incident, a 17-year-old boy, who had appeared for his class XII exams, committed suicide in his house near Vanur on Thursday, while two girls near Gingee were reported missing.
According to a police source, Sathyamorthy had appeared for the board exams which ended on Tuesday. After the exams, Sathyamorthy had been helping his father and mother in their hotel business.
On Thursday afternoon, Gurumorthy sent Sathyamorthy to a shop at Vanur to buy some things for the hotel, but he did not return.
Gurumorthy, who went to his house to check if Sathyamorthy was there, found the house to be locked from inside.
Growing suspicious, He peeped through the window and found Sathyamorthy hanging from the ceiling fan. Based on a complaint from Gurumorthy, Vanurpolice are inquiring to find out whether Sathyamorthy took the extreme step over a love affair or for not doing well in his exams.
In another incident, two girls, both aged 17, and studying class XII in the same school have been reported missing after they went to school to write the last board exam.
Police said Magalakshmi and Logeshwari were the two girls.
