All set for JEE (Main) exam today

It’s testing times for engineering seat aspirants as the third Joint Engineering Entrance Examination (Main) will be conducted in pen and paper mode on Saturday.

The exam is the first step to securing a seat in one of the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology, National Institutes of Technology or other Centrally-funded technical institutions. Candidates’ performance in Class 12/II Pre-University exam as well as JEE (Main) will be considered for admissions (40 per cent and 60 per cent respectively). The JEE (Main) exam will also serve as the eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which will be held on May 24.

This year, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Nagaland, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand and Odisha have joined the exam.

Change in test centres

The JEE (Main) official website announced a few changes in test centres on Friday owing to “administrative reasons” leading to some confusion. However, there were no changes in the centres in Karnataka.

Candidates will have to enter the hall at 9 a.m. for Paper-1 (B.E/B.Tech) and at 1.30 p.m. for Paper-2 (B.Arch/B.Planning). In computer mode, JEE (Main) will be held on April 10 and 11.

It will be conducted in pen and paper mode
