JEE (Main) 2015: Almost 13.03 lakh candidates to appear for the exam

The Joint Entrance Exam (Main) will witness almost 13.03 lakh test takers, this year. The figures have seen a drop, compared to last year as almost 13.56 lakh candidates had appeared for the exam in the year 2014. However, the statistics reveal that the number of candidates who have registered for the computer based test has seen an upward slope. In the year, 2014, 1.71 lakh candidates appeared for the exam computer based exam, this year, the number has reached 1.86 lakh.

The candidates appearing for the paper based test have their exam tomorrow i.e. April 4 and those appearing for the computer based test have to appear for the exam on April 10 and 11.

JEE Main consists of two papers: Paper I for BE and B.Tech courses and Paper II for B.Arch and B.Planning courses. It will be held for a duration of three hours, consisting of 96 questions in total, carrying 360 marks. For every correct answer by the student, 4 marks will be provided and for a wrong answer by the candidate, there will be a deduction of one mark.

The candidates should remember to carry the admit cards along with them to the exam hall, failing which they will not be allowed to appear for the exam. Also, CBSE has notified certain changes in the exam centre.

The candidates should also note that if they are expecting the result of their Class 12th/equivalent qualifying examination after June 25, they should not attempt JEE (Main)-2015.  It is important for the candidates to note that to be eligible for allotment of All India Ranking of JEE (Main)-2015 they need to have results of class 12 by June 25.
